Our Madeira Story
Madeira holds a special place in our story.
I first discovered Madeira through volleyball. After representing Portugal at the Junior World Championship in Turkey, where we reached the semi-finals and were eliminated by Brazil, the eventual champions, I had the opportunity to continue my volleyball career with Marítimo in Madeira.
What began through sport became a lasting connection with the island, its people, culture, landscapes and traditions.
Today, Madeira is not just a destination for us. It is part of our story and we look forward to sharing it with our Canadian travellers through local eyes.

DAY 1 — Welcome to Madeira
Arrival in Funchal and welcome by the Northern Roots Travel team.
Check-in and relaxed introduction to the island, followed by a welcome dinner featuring traditional Madeiran flavours.

The exact levada route can be selected according to the group's fitness level.
DAY 6 — North Coast & Porto Moniz
Discover the wild beauty of northern Madeira.
